AVITI

The AVITI sequencer delivers high accuracy and cost efficiency.

AVITI is also being utilized in our joint clinical research project with Kagawa University, which has been adopted under the FY2024 “Hiroshima Unicorn 10” Asia Co-Creation Program conducted by Hiroshima Prefecture. MiSeq

We have implemented Illumina’s next-generation sequencer, the MiSeq. The MiSeq is the only desktop NGS platform capable of generating up to 15 Gb of data per run with 2 × 300 bp paired-end reads. This enables small-genome assembly and, in particular, the detection of target variants in homopolymer regions with unparalleled accuracy.

Its high-throughput, rapid processing—such as sequencing multiple samples at once—has revolutionized fields like personalized medicine, hereditary disease research, and clinical diagnostics.

Immunological Testing

At the Setolabo Hygiene Testing Laboratory in Osaka, we have installed and operate the LumiPulse L2400—a system ordinarily found only in university and large hospitals. The LumiPulse is a fully automated chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay system that uses the chemiluminescent substrate AMPPD and ferrite‐particle solid‐phase reagents, delivering high sensitivity, rapid processing, and easy operation. Not only does it offer the highest throughput in the LumiPulse series at 240 tests per hour, but it also features external sampling capability and extensive expandability for integration with conveyor‐line systems.

COVID-19 Testing

At the Setolabo Hygiene Testing Laboratory, we offer COVID-19 antigen tests, antibody tests, and PCR tests. For PCR, we have deployed Takara Bio’s latest real-time PCR instrument (CronoSTAR™ 96 Real-Time PCR System (6-channel)), released in August 2020. We use the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare–approved Takara Bio PCR assay kits (SARS-CoV-2 Direct Detection RT-qPCR Kit Ver.1/Ver.2), enabling tests to be covered by public health insurance.

Moreover, all analyses are performed exclusively by physicians, clinical laboratory technicians, and researchers with hands-on experience in clinical diagnostics and research. Although PCR testing is legally permissible for non-professionals, we do not allow inexperienced staff or laypersons to conduct any of our laboratory tests.
