A recruitment service specializing in post-retirement physicians.

Aiming for a society where retired doctors can be more active than before retirement – A recruitment service specializing in retired doctors –

With people living longer, more physicians remain capable of practicing well past traditional retirement age. However, Ministry of Health data show that employment rates fall sharply from 90% at age 55 to 85% at age 60, 72% at age 65, and just 60% by age 70. In an era when living to 100—and soon even 120—is increasingly common, the notion of “retirement” often carries a somber connotation as the start of one’s final chapter. Our new initiative reframes retirement as the beginning of an exciting second act.

Instead of merely matching soon-to-retire or recently retired physicians with open positions, we focus on how they wish to leverage their decades of experience and pursue opportunities they haven’t yet explored. By placing them with hospitals or companies where meaningful work—rather than salary or perks—is the priority, we create secure, fulfilling environments for both doctors and their employers. In turn, this approach boosts organizational productivity and helps address broader societal challenges, which is why we’ve launched this service as a new business venture.

Service overview

We provide a service that allows doctors who have reached retirement age to look for jobs in not only medical institutions but also venture companies that require doctors as a second career. As an extension of this, we will establish a community for doctors who are reaching retirement age and have them provide health checkups to local communities and organizations as part of their efforts to promote preventive medicine.

Value we can provide to doctors

“Early retirement poses significant drawbacks, even for physicians who are technically still able to practice. Suddenly finding oneself without work can be a tremendous psychological burden. For doctors reaching—or having reached—retirement age, it is crucial to know they remain valued by society and that meaningful roles await them. By moving beyond the traditional “medical department” framework and even beyond purely clinical settings to include opportunities in the broader corporate world, we aim to enable physicians to craft a new chapter in their professional lives.

On the other hand, many regions—especially rural areas—face acute doctor shortages. By tapping into the talent pool of retired physicians and welcoming them outside the rigid “department” system, we can help alleviate this shortage.

Moreover, by matching physicians with innovative companies and startups—thereby removing the regulatory barriers imposed by Japan’s Medical Care Act and Medical Practitioners’ Act—we can empower groundbreaking services even in a highly regulated environment.
