Setolabo LLC is taking the following steps to contribute to the SDGs:
3. Health and Welfare for All
This initiative is directly linked to Setolabo’s core business activities.
We carry it out under two pillars:
- Preventive medical testing
- Education in preventive medicine
4. Quality Education for All
This encompasses both internal initiatives at Setolabo and collaborations with external organizations:
- In-house programs for skill development
- Donations to MEXT’s “Tobitate! Study Abroad JAPAN” scholarship program
- Contributions to medical education at Kagawa University School of Medicine
- Funding for clinical research at Chiang Mai University
- Hosting and mentorship of interns
5. Achieving Gender Equality
At Setolabo, we champion gender equality and recruit employees regardless of gender, nationality, or place of birth:
- Women make up over 80% of our workforce
- Women hold 70% of our executive roles
- We have hired 15 employees of foreign nationality
- We provide financial support for LGBT initiatives
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
At Setolabo, we plan to power our testing systems with renewable energy. Specifically, because our diagnostic processes consume large amounts of electricity, we intend to install a solar photovoltaic power system.
13. Take Concrete Action on Climate Change
At Setolabo, we are carrying out the following initiatives:
- Review and optimize office heating and cooling temperature settings
- Transition company vehicles to electric cars (under consideration)
- Make powering off PCs whenever away from the desk a standard practice
- Ensure unused electrical appliances are unplugged
- Implement a rule to disconnect chargers as soon as devices finish charging
- Enforce turning off lights in unoccupied rooms
- Require staff to limit car use when going out and to use public transport (buses or trains)
- Encourage walking or cycling for short trips
- Promote the use of reusable bags and minimize reliance on plastic bags
- Establish guidelines to select products with minimal packaging
With the goals listed below in mind, we are working towards applying to become a “Kagawa Regional Revitalization SDGs Registered Business” in the summer of 2023.
